Getting Started

Start with the garage door closed also make sure there’s a light bulb in your garage door opener. When it flashes that lets you know the programming was successful.

The Chamberlain KLIK2U Clicker universal wireless keypad is compatible with Liftmaster, Chamberlain, and Craftsman garage door openers that have yellow, purple, red, orange, and green learn buttons. It’s also compatible with most other garage door openers manufactured after 1993.

Where to locate the learn button

The learn button is usually located on the back or side panel of the opener where the antenna wire hangs down. You may need to open the light lens if you have a yellow or purple learn button. The antenna wire will match the learn button color which can save you a trip up the ladder.

Control panels that can be used to program your keypad

Some garage door openers come with a control panel that can be used to program your remote control. There are several styles, the multifunction control panel, the motion-detecting control panel, the smart control panel with an LCD screen, and a doorbell style single button control panel. Follow the steps that apply to your style of control panel or use your garage door opener to complete the programming.

Programming the Chamberlain wireless keypad KLIK2U

Select and write down a four-digit PIN number. Use the chart in the instructions to determine your garage door opener ID and write that down. Press and release the star and hashtag buttons until the lights on the keypad begin to flash and then stop flashing. Do not pause longer than 5 seconds. between keystrokes while programming, this will cause the keypad to timeout. Enter the four-digit pin you selected and you wrote down and press the hashtag. Enter the ID you wrote down for your garage door opener and press the hashtag button.

If you have a door control with a learn button press and release the learn button two times. If you have a door control with an LCD screen press menu press the down arrow until the program is highlighted then press the side arrow to select. If you have a doorbell style door control press and hold the light button on the side while pressing and releasing the front button the light will blink once and then stay on solid or quickly press and release the learn button on your garage door opener one time.

Enter the same four-digit pin you entered before and then press 0. The lights on the garage door opener will blink and the opener will make a clicking sound. Wait for the lights on the keypad to turn off before trying it out. To operate the garage door enter the four-digit pin on the keypad and then press 0, and the garage door will move.
